| Other Details | Xerochrysum bracteatum, commonly known as the golden everlasting or strawflower, is a flowering plant in the family Asteraceae native to Australia. They bloom mid to late summer for hilly region and January-April in plains and add interest to borders and rock gardens. The flowers can be cut for use both fresh and dried.Annual. Easily grown in average, dry to medium, well-drained soils in full sun. Tolerates light shade This 12-30 inch, rounded plant has narrow, green leaves and wiry flower stems. The 2- 2 1/2 diameter, rounded flower heads have a centre of non-showy fertile florets that are ringed with showy, papery-textured bracts in shades of red, salmon, purple, yellow, pink, or white. Helichrysum bracteatum do best in full sun with a well drained soil mix. Pinch plants early on to promote a tight habit. |
