Very rightly said.
I don't think anyone would deny this fact that internet is a very good and convenient source of information. It is very easy to access and contains very good, trash.... all types of info. But here we are not talking about the advantages or disadvantages of internet. Here we are talking about an attitude which has developed amongst few people in the past few years, mainly due to easy access to internet, whereby, a person without having practical experience / real knowledge of a particular aspect, starts giving practical / commercial advices to others. We come across many such people in our lives nowadays. These are people basically with shallow knowledge. For such people, internet makes it very easy to browse a few topics on the subject and than pose to be an authority. My brother does farming and I have seen many commercial internet scholors contacting the farmers nowadays, advicing them regarding new breeds, new seeds, new fertilzers and new methods of farming, just based on a shallow internet knowledge. When asked about details, they are quick at quoting multiple links as an authority, without carrying out much research about the source, knowledge of the writer, the climate of the area talked about etc etc. Such people are dangerous as they lack the real knowledge and understanding of the subject and due to them, many people loose their money. This is what I termed as "internet scholor" and this is what I adviced Vegalinks to be careful about. I wonder why would anyone like to defend people with such attitude?
Internet is like a library which has billions of books, pamphlets and articles. But unlike a proper library where every new addition is accounted for, it's source and authenticity is determined/ recorded, anyone can contribute anything on the internet which may be brilliant, false, dangerous, very useful.... anything and unfortunately, no one has any control over it. That is where we have to be careful in our selections, specially when advising a person who has committed his money in a commercial project.
